Dido was born Florian Cloud de Bounevialle Armstrong[2][3] at St. Mary Abbots hospital in Kensington, London on Christmas Day 1971.[4] Because she was born on Christmas Day, she also celebrates an "official birthday" on 25 June, following the example of Paddington Bear.[5] Her mother, Clare (née Collins) is a French poet[3] and her father, William O'Malley Armstrong was an Irish publisher and former managing director of Sidgwick & Jackson.[6][7] She has an older brother, Rowland Constantine O'Malley Armstrong[8] who is better known as record producer Rollo. Despite their impressive birth names, the pair were known from childhood by the names that are famous now — Dido and Rollo.[3] Dido has made it clear that "Dido" is now her real name and not simply a stage name or nickname.[1][5][9]
Dido was named after the mythical Queen of Carthage. As a child, she had to deal with the ambiguous and unusual nature of her name, which led to her being bullied[1] and even to her pretending to have an ordinary name.[3] As she explains:
To be called one thing and christened another is actually very confusing and annoying. It's one of the most irritating things that my parents did to me. ...Florian is a German man's name. That's just mean. To give your child a whole lot of odd names. They were all so embarrassing. ...I thought it was cruel to call me Dido and then expect me to just deal with it.

Dido was educated at Thornhill Primary, City of London Girls' and Westminster School. After she stole a recorder from school at age five,[10] her parents enrolled her at the Guildhall School of Music in London, England. By the time she reached her teens Dido had learned to play the piano, recorder and the violin. She later studied law at Birkbeck, University of London, while working as a literary agent. She never completed the course, deciding instead to take up music full-time. After learning the guitar, she showcased her skills to audiences during her 2004 Life for Rent tour.

Miriam Zenzi Makeba was born in Johannesburg in 1932. Her mother was a Swazi sangoma and her father, who died when she was six, was a Xhosa. As a child, she sang at the Kilmerton Training Institute in Pretoria, which she attended for eight years.
Makeba first toured with an amateur group. Her professional career began in the 1950s with the Manhattan Brothers, before she formed her own group, The Skylarks, singing a blend of jazz and traditional melodies of South Africa.
She died in Castel Volturno, near Caserta, Italy, in the evening of 9 November 2008, of a heart attack, shortly after taking part in a concert organized to support writer Roberto Saviano in his stand against the Camorra, a mafia-like organisation.In his condolence message, former South African president Nelson Mandela said it was “fitting that Makeba died doing what she did best - singing.”

Nena (born Gabriele Susanne Kerner on March 24, 1960 in Hagen, North Rhine-Westphalia, West Germany) is a singer and actress and the co-founder (with three others) of the Neue Schule Hamburg, a school following the Sudbury model. She rose to international fame in 1984 with the New German Wave song "99 Luftballons", whose English version is called "99 Red Balloons". "Nena" was also the name of the band with whom she released the song. With the re-recording and subsequent release of some of her old tracks, her career saw a second wind in 2002.

During Lindenberg’s childhood he developed a feel for rhythm. Taking every opportunity to drum, Lindenberg used petrol cans in lieu of a drum kit. Later he obtained his first real drum kit and in 1962 he began a period of journeying in order to learn his craft. His wandering took him to northern Germany and Gunter Hampel after which he travelled to France, Tripoli and onwards to the Music Academy at Münster. 1968 found Lindenberg in Hamburg where he decided against a career at sea and joined a troupe of folk musicians. In 1969 he was the drummer for City Preachers, Germany’s first folk-rock-band.
In October 1983, the West German rock star was surprisingly permitted to perform in concert at the Palast der Republik in East Germany. At the concert, Lindenberg sang one of his best-known songs (adapting the tune of Chattanooga Choo Choo), Sonderzug nach Pankow ("Special Train To Pankow"), which satirized East German leader Erich Honecker, and which he had been asked not to play. The East German government immediately revoked his permission to complete his scheduled East German concert tour, after he had spent months begging them for permission to perform there. Udo Lindenberg is a political and religious person. He professes social democratic beliefs and appeared at the birthday party of former German Federal Chancellor Gerhard Schröder. Lindenberg has engaged in activism including the raising of funds for aid to Africa and the writing of a song against the Berlin Wall. In 2000 he founded the project, Rock against right-wing violence.
Lindenberg has worked collaboratively with various local and international artists (Eric Burdon, Helen Schneider, David Bowie, Keith Forsey, Gianna Nannini, and Nena) on a number of projects. He currently lives in Hamburg in the Hotel Atlantic (for several years now). His raw voice is the result of too much alcohol and cigarettes. In 1989 he survived a heart attack.

(German for I and I) is the name of a musical project by the German musicians Annette Humpe and Adel Tawil. They met in a Berlin recording studio in 2002 when Adel sang on a production that Annette had written. They have sold more than 1,665,000 records in German-speaking nations.
Their first album appeared on April 18, 2005, and two of its singles ("Du erinnerst mich an Liebe" and "Dienen") have reached the German Top 10. The second album "Vom selben Stern" released June 29, 2007. The first single of the album with the same name also reached the Top 10, too.

Rosenstolz ['ʁoːzənʃtɔlts] is a German music band from Berlin. Their music combines several styles including rock, pop and ballads. AnNa R. and Peter Plate form the duo. They had their breakthrough in 1998 with the song Herzensschöner (Heart's Desire). Ko so pred 124. leti zgradili obrat Južnih železnic ob koroškem kolodvoru, je tam delalo okoli 1200 ljudi. Delavci so dobili stanovanja v novih stanovanjskih kolonijah in zasebnih hišah. Pot na delo je bila dolga in mestna občina je leta 1885 zgradila novo prometno povezavo čez reko Dravo z brvjo. Povezovala je mestni del (koroška četrt) s Studenci.
Brv je bila narejena iz treh železnih lokov na dveh lesenih stebriščih sredi Drave. Visoka Drava pa je 13.septembra 1903 brv odnesla. Pri tem sta utonila dva mestna stražnika, ki sta prebivalcem branila prehod čez brv. Leto kasneje so zgradili novo brv. Sredi Drave so tokrat postavili dva zidana stebra, trije ojačani železni loki so povezovali oba bregova.
Drugi dan vojne, 7. aprila 1941, nekaj po 16., uri pa je jugoslovanska vojska brv razstrelila. Okupator je brv obnovil in jo uporabljal do leta 1945.
Zaradi izgradnje elektrarne Mariborski otok je narasla Drava v noči od 8. na 9. julij 1946 brv odnesla. Postavili so novo, ki je bila odprta 25. septembra 1948. Na njej je asfalt, vozišče pa razširjeno. Razpetine med stebri so po 42 m, širina pa je 3 m.
Leta 2007 so pričeli z rekonstrukcijo brvi. Uradna otvoritev je bila 22. januarja 2008.
